A Living Entity.

It is far better to have a relationship that works, but does not last, than it is to have a relationship that lasts, but does not work.

One of our biggest barriers to having a successful relationship is that we place preconceived ideas, and terms and conditions on our relationships. We attempt to manage and control our relationships as though they are no different to our job or a task that we have chosen to complete. However, relationships are not a task to complete, or a job to be managed and controlled.

Relationships are not a contest or a game that we need to win. Relationships are a living entity in themselves, brought to life by the combined energy of those who share the relationship, regardless of the basis for the relationship.

We need to allow our relationships to breathe, and to live. We need to flow with each moment of our relationships as each moment occurs and not suffocate each moment of our relationships with past regrets or future promises.

We need to allow our relationships to flow with their own life force, created by the energy of those who share the relationship. We need to allow our relationships to take us to the experiences that we need.

We need to feed and nurture our relationships, like all living entities, if our relationships are to grow to reach their full potential. However, we also need to understand that relationships, like all living entities, have a natural lifetime, and when the relationship has fulfilled all that the relationship is destined to fulfil, the relationship will cease to exist and die of natural causes. Many of us attempt to hold onto relationships, long after the relationship has died.

After we have experienced all that is to be experienced from a relationship, and a relationship has died, we need to release the relationship and allow our energy to feed our remaining, and our new relationships.

Sometimes our relationships are destined to live for but a single moment, and other times our relationships are destined to live for a lifetime. However, we do not always know how long a relationship is destined to live, and on the occasions when we do know how long a relationship is destined to live, we do not always know the reasons for the relationship.

If we do not take a little time to feed and nurture our relationships each day, we should not be surprised if our relationships wither, and produce bitter, if any fruit.
