The Contents Of A Container.

Our bodies are a vessel for our soul. Our bodies are not a temple. Our bodies should not be worshiped, but we must care for our vessel, its contents are precious.

What is more important? The container or the contents. Genetic engineering is like perfecting a wine bottle, but ignoring the quality of the wine.

If we pour the contents of a tall slim glass into a short fat glass, is it the contents that have changed or the container? If we pour out the pleasant tasting contents of a tall slim glass and replace the contents with a bitter tasting drink, what had changed?

The tall slim glass may feel better to hold, the tall slim glass may be aesthetically more pleasing, but all that is really important is the contents.

We live in a society which is obsessed with perfection, not of the spirit but of the body. A perfection worn so that this artificial perfection is a sign to tell others of this artificial perfection. Striving for perfection is a waste of time because perfection cannot be obtained. Many have to work for hours each day to perfect a body that is no more than a temporary vessel. It is a waste of time. We must concern ourselves only with our soul.

Exercise is good for the body, exercise stimulates the mind and invigorates the soul, exercise for enjoyment, and not solely to lose weight and have what is considered a more perfect body in the society of today. In the society of yesterday it was being overweight that people would strive for. Neither is correct. We must be ourselves, we must be comfortable and balanced within ourselves. We must attend to our soul and our soul will attend to our body.

There is a growing desire for healthiness within society, and with this comes extremes. Striving to be more healthy for a longer life is a waste of time, because when we have experienced all that we need to experience in a lifetime, our lifetime is over by one means or another, regardless of health.

We are not perfect, but we must have the courage to be who we are. It is difficult to be who we are because we strive to be who we think we should be, not who we are.
