Colours carry energy which we can draw to us by focusing on specific colours, or we can base our meditation on the colours which surround us. The link to our 'Blue Page' will demonstrate the use of colours in meditation.

Blue Page

We may like to meditate using the colours in the following chart. If we select or 'click on' the 'colour name' column, we will open a page of that colour.

We should select a colour in the same way that we should select a crystal. We should allow ourselves to be drawn to the energy of the colour which we need. We should not analyse the 'meaning' of the various colours and attempt to select the colour that we think that we need.

Colour Blindness

We are each an individual and we will often perceive colours differently. If we are blue green colour blind for example, we may perceive a colour as green, when someone else will perceive the colour as blue. The technically correct description of a colour is not important, it is our individual perception of colours which is important, and all that is important, to us as individuals.

Often, if we only have a mild form of colour blindness, we may be unaware that we see colours differently than other people. We may have even argued about colours. The Ishihara colour blindness test is available on the internet using the following link. The link button is in itself a test, and 'normal' vision will see a 5 rather than a 2.

The following is an extract from the color quiz site…..

The Color quiz is partially based on research by Dr. Max Lûscher during the early 1900's. He has devoted his life to the study of how color affects behaviour and has been hired by some of the world's largest companies as a consultant.

The test itself is based upon fundamentals in color psychology. With years of research by color psychologists the characteristics of certain colors has been identified to cause an emotional response in people. This was done by studying the response from hundreds of thousands of test subjects around the world in order to isolate how certain colors make us feel. By doing the reverse, using the colors people prefer to determine how people feel, we can get some interesting indicators about a person's current emotional state.

It is important to understand that the results from tests like this can be both short-term and long-term in their meaning. For example, if you are feeling depressed about something when you take the test you may see this reflected in your results. You may also notice deeper conflicts showing themselves consistently if you take the test time and time again. This test can be taken quite often and still yield results that are accurate. The results will not be the same each time you take the test, for the most part, unless you are taking them without some time interval between them.

True Colours

True Colors by Cyndi Lauper.

You with the sad eyes
Don't be discouraged
Oh I realize
It's hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
And the darkness inside you
Can make you fell so small.

But I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful
Like a rainbow.

Show me a smile then
Don't be unhappy, can't remember
When I last saw you laughing
If this world makes you crazy
And you've taken all you can bear
You call me up
Because you know I'll be there.

And I'll see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful
Like a rainbow.
